My wishlist for the remake version of .hack//Link and what it needs to change.

Disclaimer: I do not own .hack franchise, it was owned by Bandai Namco Entertainment and CyberConnect 2. These articles are entirely my opinions so there's no any involvements related, and if someone are not much comfortable with certain words, I write on this article please contact me and I would delete or change it as part of your request, that includes if you want me to add something in this article.

.hack//Link is the direct-sequel to the .hack//G.U. series which is also part of the beginning of 3rd Season Project released back in 2010 for PlayStation Portables. 

The game focuses on the main protagonist, Tokio Kuryuu who has a passionate love for the Video Games but never played the latest release of The World R:X, but that despair until the mysterious beautiful girl, Saika Amagi transferring to Tokio’s classroom, whom had a same similarity appearance to the princess from his dream. She using the Black Copy Disc to transporting Tokio into the game and met with Kite whose fighting against the leader of hacker group Schicksal, Fluegel, but Kite in result of Tokio’s involvement defeated and entrust his friends of Twilight Knights and go to Akashic Records to restore his friends, and that’s how his journey begin.

Although, the story directions and characterization really do much better, but the premise and the gameplay sometimes felt repetitive and uninteresting, although it makes the game’s reception to Mixed Reception or Mediocre. But the things like lore and plots that bring ties to the previous .hack titles together really praised a worthy nostalgia and gates for newcomers and old fans. However, one the alternate timeline scenario lacks of few accuracy of its character story direction, including how it lacks to develop the original LINK characters (Except: Flugel and Cello).

I might want to make my wishlist what will the remake of .hack//Link will look like since it’s almost the end of 10th Anniversary of .hack//Link, as much as everyone and what I hope (or probably not what everyone might think of it) to bring something that it’s true potential of the main titles and sequel, (Few peoples might already considering Link as the true sequel so it’s okay for me).

.hack//IMOQ Remake might be what I’ve been targeting for my wishlist, however, everyone might already know what they want because of a positive demands, so… it might not be hurt if I do a wishlist for the remake version of .hack//Link.

1. Improve the Story Plot Direction and make it more like Actual Plot to LINK


Although the story direction might little interesting, at first fans might didn’t like its story when it’s release in Japan, and possibly that they got spoiled during middle after its release, another issue that it didn’t come to the west (The reason lies on Hiroshi Q&A S2 #27: .hack//Link on other console?).

When the translation came, slowly that they perception toward .hack//Link might had change even just little or few people, realizing how .hack//Link still bring amazing story to dothack fans even though despite of its flaws at how CC2 directing the story and it’s character, since it’s aims for younger audience which the story is lighter than old fans might expected, but the story still wonderful and solid nostalgic for old fans to follow.

As for Remake version, it wouldn’t hurt improves the story along with adding the cutscenes, dialogues, and cutscenes to make us better understanding about the story plots, character motivational, character development, lore, story progression and how the game story brings an impact to the 3rd Season Project story like .hack//Bullet as best of it’s known. But this features also further improving and increased its development toward the characters with adding a depth toward its character progression and how it incorporated to the story.

By adding an extra or an additional cutscenes and dialogues to add a lot of depth toward their characters during the interaction or explain about their activities and backstories in form of the main story or side story, so fans might grow fond to them. If it’s for Fluegel… how about you read .hack//Bullet, I honestly want them to hint or tease his character that could lead to his development to the novel, might more interesting to gain a lot attention from fans to buy and read .hack//Bullet.

 2. Makes it directly connected to the previous main title of .hack, including .hack//SIGN.


As Tokio travelling to the past eras with Akashic Records through The Sea of Memories, in order to free Twilight Knights from the stone and getting the Chrono Core from the legendary heroes from the past era of The WORLD in order to reach to the top floor of Akashic Records. Although, those past timeline are not the original timeline, but as an alternate timeline, and the heroes that he met was an AI created by Aura, but it’s very nice for interactions with other characters from other titles.  

Through the past time, he comes and interact with the previous protagonist of the main titles of .hack, such as Tsukasa, Kite Haseo and going to witness of their story of the past era in The WORLD, which is the way to get the Chrono Core before Schicksal be able to get those, which is the rightful mission that only Tokio can do.

Although on the main story, it’s interesting to add ties and connection with the previous .hack titles and how it tied-up to the Link story and the 3rd Season story of .hack which is very interesting to see how to make .hack//Link even more important in .hack series. While, Link purpose might to refreshing through past titles of .hack with a main story of .hack//Link and even it is also for the fan-service with crossover elements, but few of them knew it wasn’t just a fan-service.

Tokio’s interaction and how main story that ties with plots from previous .hack titles might could get handled better to tie it together as a whole, while also adds many new plots which those answered questions from previous .hack titles might lead to the new more questions that could set up for 3rd Season project .hack. I kinda think that it could allow us to learn more about Akashic Records and how it was used for the real digitalization plans and how those functions really works which was all planned by Geist.

3. Improved the gameplay system & QOL by adding a brand-new element and character expression art.

I think even the storylines gets pretty well, but the gameplay and QOL is rather repetitive, including character art dialogues which seems didn’t make variety enough to add more character expressions in a deeper way or in a cute way within the actions or emotional, or both of it. Although some people might still love this formula and it makes them as a true dothack fans, but the others wouldn’t do had the same opinions as they did.

So with .hack//Link -Remake- ported to PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch could improve the loading times, optimized game to use the traditional controllers & new-releases platform gen feature, higher-resolutions, higher-frame rate boost, difficult mode, and more that could improve the quality-of-life for Link. Might not be hurt to add new elements of the gameplay which could improve the experience for exploring and combats which likely really positive for old fans and newcomers to enjoy Tokio with past characters from the past titles (you all can think what gameplay elements you all want to add).

It also given chance to improve and adds a lot more expression character art for the characters for Tokio, Saika, AIKA, and Schicksal characters with adds-depth toward their character which could fit their personality, whether it’s cute, emotional, sad, twisted, hilariously, and more that they could offer, Improving its expression in dynamic ways and adding a new one which could increase the layer of the characters personality which is good for us to see it.

4. Changing the Comic-Style Cutscenes to Animated Cutscene



There are few things that it’s unique to .hack//Link with using Comic-Cutscenes style cutscenes which is the first time since it’s using for PlayStation Portable and it brought us a brand-new experience for players in a new way to enjoy, which you can feel by watching the cutscenes through uses comic style, although it might not look interesting to the other fans, that include for me thought (sorry, but this my honest opinions).

Few other fans really used to enjoy cutscenes in comic style, because they usually enjoy the cutscenes through the CGI or animated cutscenes (like persona 5), and it might not look interesting to them. For me, Indeed I kinda not too interested with comic style cutscenes, but I accept if they like it thought, but sometimes it doesn’t sit much better for me to get used with those methods, so it might be better if the remake could replace comic style cutscenes with animated cutscenes. By replacing the Comic-style cutscenes with an animated cutscenes could bring the character more alive within through expression, feelings, and emotions through the animation scene, and it anime cutscenes can be produced from different studio, like IG production for example.

However, some or several fans might not like it or prefer the comic style cutscenes is unique to .hack//Link aesthetics which is very acceptable for me, but I might suggest it could be more fair to add an option which allows you to choose between Comic Cutscenes or Anime Cutscenes. Adding a new Easter Eggs and unique improvements to the comic cutscenes might be more epics for people who really want to go back and enjoy the comic cutscenes, I also interested if they added animation elements in the comic style cutscenes (like how Tokio’s expression animated through with comic cutscenes in the ending of .hack//Link) which increased its uniqueness to combine anime and comic cutscenes which is also how fans might like it and it’s fair thought.

But I think it needs more budget in order to do that, but I’m hoping they could find this solution and whatever they choose, I gladly to think that it was acceptable as long it could be handled properly.

5. Making Field Areas more interesting or an improvements from G.U. Games

For those who played .hack//Link since the day one or later after decades with using English translation patch, you might already experiencing the repetitiveness with how many areas you explored and ended with fighting the bosses with the music opening from previous titles, I guess it could bore them immediately, there are also fans who were still enjoying the dungeon, but sometimes they might got bore slowly, that’s the same outcomes.

It would be interesting if they added a new dungeon with many various elements which impressed fans with adding Puzzles, Conditions Exploration, Temple, and added a greater sense of exploration. More interestingly that if they could add a lot improvements from G.U. Games like Catching Chim-Chim, Fighting King-Chim-Chim, and helping Mecha Grunty. Also adding new elements in order for players could have more experience and enjoy the beautifulness of The WORLD’s past era, also adds new challenging and optimize the system elements of the gameplay for areas in order to make it easier also challenging for the players. I think adds a random area with a different designation of area field would be a good idea instead going through dungeon with same design repeatedly, I also wishing if they could add a new soundtrack exclusive for bosses, I think that would fit to the JRPG Game.

I though I don’t know if they be able to do that, since I don’t know if they could only remastered or remake the game from scratch, but expand and increase the challenges for area might not be easy, however, I think those challenges to make areas much even more fun and allow the players to experience it, really worth to attract their intention how good and beautiful .hack//Link is. I honestly hope they could make us fighting boss in a middle way instead at the end of the area, also increasing the boss in real-time.

6. Improved Combat System with an additional element and new changes.


I love how they starting the combat in the field area in real-time like Kingdom Hearts did… really?… okay then *Cough*. What I’m trying to explain is, the combat system in .hack//Link is sometimes feeling mediocre and repetitive, it feels like an improvement from G.U. Games allowing to using Skill Trigger and items more easily now, but the problem is just what I stated, the gameplay feels repetitive, the level system sometimes feels lack what it most things to call as an JRPG so there’s several problems there, the worst is that we have to rely on Juggling system to perform Cross-Rengeki repeatedly during combat well, that’s boring though, but I think that’s how limitation of PSP is.

I wish they could improve the combat system in fast-paced since it’s an action-oriented, but I do hope they could add tactical strategy elements which something similar from .hack//IMOQ or .hack//G.U. and it’s interesting if they could dynamically improves the combo attacks, skills and cross-rengeki, It’s also a good idea to removed Juggling system or reducing uses of juggling and replacing with different methods to defeat enemies which too, is very important for the studio developers CC2 to address.

Few new changes address for the combat is what I’m very interested for, as well adding a new combat system which improves or expand thrilling experience for fans to enjoy the combat and slaughtering the enemies who gets in your way, bwahahahaha!!... *Cough* *Cough*, Well, might be good for players to enjoy the new experience, like adds a build-up skills through ability system which also can allow to obtain a new skills trigger & adds magics on it which it’s useful for the combat, levelling up to strengthened characters status, and increased the affection in order to unlock a new bonds scenario. I also hoping for remakes would had invite 3 or 5 party members for exploration with add massive scales of the enemies, which is very interesting to add excitement for the combat. I would love to see new elements like lock-down system to appear, which allow players to select target they want to attack.

But I don’t know what kind additional elements that fans want it added for combat system, so I can’t judge them, but I hoping the studio developers could majorly improves the combat experience in fast-action oriented, while also adds a new elements and improvements from G.U. Games. I think people had opinion what system they would want to add in the remake game.

7. Moved from 2D element for Server Town visual navigation to 3D element design, which allows you to explore the town freely.


Now for the 2D elements in server town, same as how combat and gameplay was handled, this was also part of limitation from PSP. When it comes for the server town, it’s only a visual navigation on 2D elements it might allows you to easily to know where you want to go freely without having walk for per-miles like in the previous titles, but that caused losing the faithfully original sense toward online game aspect and its experience, including we can clearly explored the beauty of the town and meeting players for trading the items, that’s got them angrier with how they turned it into 2D.

So I think they would remade it from scratch to replaced 2D into HD/3D which allow us to walk around the town and explore the server town, while enjoying nostalgia of how we played from the previous titles, and it’s very good to come back into something we love to, even though it needs a lot budget to remake it from the scratch, although it’s a wonderful challenge that really pays off for developer studios to do it. 

I would love to see more open-areas through town server as you discover new elements to that town server and lots new shops there which never even discovered in previous titles which is a new experience which can only be found in LINK -remake-. I also loved to walk around Grand-Whale and talking and trading items with a twilight knights, now people going to love it to see Tokio made trading items with them, but since Tokio is a doubleware with his actual body drown into the online game, I wonder how his communication with other players will work, but I would love they explored more uses of doubleware in such unique ways.

8. Improved the storyline by adding several cutscene, improved the dialogue, and expand story lore to setting up for 3rd Season .hack


As I already told you above, Link storyline needs an improvement along with adding a new cutscenes, dialogues, and expand the lores that were tied to previous .hack titles. For the storyline improvements means it also needs to improve where the story direction headed, along with the character development and how its progression had relevant to the game with increasing the depth story, it makes more interesting to know more about its story better.

With adding story cutscenes and dialogues which expand immersive characters’ interaction toward each other. As we enjoyed our nostalgic with old stories from the past titles, we can also enjoy the new stories development for Tokio’s story in depth way which is interesting to know more about our protagonist in LINK. It would be good to improve the development between Tokio and other major Twilight Knights, including Kite, along with Schicksal and AIKA. I also thinking it needs adds a new cutscenes that could answer the question or filled something that was missing from the original version.

Many dialogues in the story can be repetitive sometimes, and some of them might have additional dialogues which were not presented in past titles, but that’s all. But improving the storyline could add new layers and build-up for Tokio’s story along with other characters through its interaction, while dive into plots that could really ties directly to the 3rd Season of .hack and adding nods & Easter Eggs which later could be used or shown in those projects looks interesting what it needs to be seen in the remake.

Interesting as it sounds, I hope with these improvements along with new elements toward the story, it could add a new weight of emotional stories and humor that could be a lot of fun to enjoy, while also adding something that could be much ironic and cruel in a way how it progress through near end of .hack//Link.  

9. Making Interaction between Tokio and Twilight Knights even more unique and expand the interaction with Actual Link Characters.

Now for the main starter in .hack//Link is made us to re-explore the story of the past titles of .hack and allows us to enjoy their interaction with characters with characters from other titles which something that never done before, for example, Haseo interacting with Kite was so adorable which is how fans really love to see how they interacting together. I wonder how Tokio interact with them too, even though they were an AI (Artificial Intelligence) and I think it’s also good for him to enjoy the interaction together with them as well.

I would love to see more unique interaction between Tokio and other Twilight Knights, but people might love Tokio’s interaction with Kite, which is something that could expand beyond from the original version, since Tokio is a Kite’s fanboy, lol. I also would love to enjoy him interacting with Tsukasa, Haseo, Atoli and more characters from the past titles in unique ways to enjoy, I could thinking something chemistry could happen along the way with humors and emotional is something it can be done even in main story and sub-story.

Interacting with original Link characters like Saika, AIKA, and Schicksal members is one thing I could hope for. We could imagine more chemistry interaction between Tokio and Flugel, I could also imagine an interaction between Tokio, Flugel and Kite, it would be interesting, also pretty awkward indeed, I wonder if Tokio could interacting Klarinette as well I would love for throwback reference of how he met her in the real world and lost against her in arcade fighting game which is throwbacks from .hack//Link -Twilight Knights- Manga, might actually really work. Now for AIKA, let us see a new cuteness of her to the maximum levels, I honestly loved to see her angry in such a cutest way as possible, I couldn’t wait to see her pouting face when she’s angry it would be super cute, also how interaction between her and Tokio could actually what fans might hoping for.

Now for Saika, honestly they didn’t get enough more of his interaction with Saika, I wonder why, but I’m aware of those reasons. But I would absolutely love for him to have such an unique interaction with Tokio, something cute and embarrassing, but sometimes something that she didn’t want to show. Although I can’t say for sure, but I hope in the remake adds something during his interaction with her, there’s a new side of her which had been discovered as the story goes, be in main or side story.

10. Indirectly story ties to MAMA's Involvement and impact toward the 3rd Season project .hack story.

If you're a fan of 3rd Season Project, you knew about the mysterious organization known as MAMA, the main antagonist group in .hack//3rd Season project. They played a role behind the scene that become something how CC Corp and ATLIMIT had a reason to turned away from reality regarding about Network Crisis incident and people who fell into a coma which possibility the two of them are parts of the organization plans for something much bigger and ideals or what’s it the company was corrupted to begin with, since the founder of CyberConnect Corp and ATLIMIT are also part of officers from MAMA organization. I think it might be spoiler to say, but MAMA’s goal is to preserving and restoring the earth by pausing the human’s activities, with the Real Digitalization is key in order to succeed their mission.

Since .hack//Link is the beginning of the 3rd Season of the .hack project, It would be interesting if there’s notice and hints that could tie directly connected to the MAMA’s involvement in the event of LINK, since they were aware about the incident which was shown in Thanatos Reports, but thus how did they know… well we leave those answer to CyberConnect2, but I think it’s interesting to add Easter eggs, cliffhanger, reports, and more that could had connection with MAMA organization, but I didn’t mean for them to appear in the main story, they might appear in the secret ending as a cameo or being heard in voice which interesting enough to connecting with 3rd Season Project .hack, I also thinking there’s a plot that could have shown indirectly hinted that MAMA was involved with IMMORTAL DUSK event. 

I think Dominique de Mirabeau and Veronica Bain was the few of the people who are aware of those events which it’s interesting to show or mentioning about them in LINK remake, which also exploring about P-COM functions that could be key for the plan for the real digitalization, that of course includes Akashic Records as part of the plan, but we might already know that Geist was the one who put this plan in motion, but there’s also possibility that MAMA also involved behind the scene to help Geist. Well, mystery is mystery after all, there are lot cliffhanger things that CC2 didn’t explain about them. But kinda interesting to add something very cheesy about them.

11. Improves and extended his character developments with added a few-depth backstories for Tokio as Protagonist.

Tokio’s character development could have made improvements and extend, for starter if you play .hack//Link, you all know him as the goofy characters, acting ridiculously and accidently causing problem to him and the others. However, he has a sense of determined and strong-willed warrior which representing his character in the story of LINK.

I think on the side of the fans of dothack might hate him as a character ten years ago, but as they enjoy the game through the translation of .hack//Link, they now begin, to love with Tokio as a character with his character development through the story, although it might just not enough, kinda. Sometimes for them his character is not what it really aimed for the older fans who become adult instead aimed for the younger audience, and I think that’s how the game was aimed for.

But, I would love to see improvements toward his character development and new depths toward his character story throughout the progression in LINK, also extending the character development for him which adds new side which never been explored in the original PSP version, although it’s keep on faithful to the original, but much better to improve and extends his character might brings us the reason his character as protagonist is so relatable.

I also love if they fleshed out his backstories a few things about his family, or something, also how his meeting with the princess in his dream had pushed him to love with game as his hobby and become stronger, although not something what he expected in the real-world, except in the online game, The WORLD, it’s very brought an interesting Easter eggs from the first manga chapter of .hack//Link -The Twilight Knights- Chapter 1 where Tokio’s admires the heroes from The WORLD’s past eras, and wanting to become hero just like them, but his life goes down with real-world’s situation problem until Saika transferring into his classroom. I think it would be interesting to see some of his backstory which could extend his character story to develop throughout the game. Although, it’s up to you all if you agree or disagree with me.

12. Handling Saika Amagi's character better and expand a new side of her through development.


Now let’s talk about Saika Amagi, it’s indeed that most of you know her if you played the game, you all might see her as an annoying, generic tsundere, and become a source of male’s fan-service because of her towel scenes. Although other fans might not think about her like that, as her character was a conflicted one, and obsession in goals to save his brother with anything she had even using Tokio in order to achieve that goal, only to be disappeared that she become a Geist’s accomplice.

I think Saika could become a better character, if CyberConnect 2 could handling her better in the game, although with PSP releases, there’s a limitation, along with budget for Voice actors, and Ami Koshimizu is voicing a two characters, Saika Amagi and AIKA. I think they focusing on more development on AIKA than Saika, but they can also have an opposite opinion from what I stated about them, but I think it might be good to develop something on her side that never even been explored in the original games. 

Fan-service of her I think I allowed, but it’s best to reduce it since she’s 14-years old, (Although I would like more fan-service of her in sequel), but let’s just put out Saika’s fan-service from our minds since it might not look good if CyberConnect 2 cannot handling her character better, which seems most people thought about her as a generic tsundere and fan-service character to the end. I wish the remake do the justice; she had another unique of her personality that didn’t shown a lot along with her backstories before she met Tokio, or showing how she developed to care about her without his notice, showing she’s actually much kinder like AIKA, but just feeling conflicted with her obsession to saving Jyotaro or something about her embarrassing hobbies she wants to keep it personally, I honestly thought that Saika could be smart, but she secretly loves playing game with no one including Tokio could ever notice her secret bad habit which is a side-plot twist about her.

Told the story of something how she lives in the pain for hatred against CC Corp for how stating Jyotaro’s presumed death which angered Saika how she knew that company news announcement was just a made up, along with how she met with AIKA for the first time, how her Saika’s obsession to save her brother (adoptive brother) through guidance from Geist through emails using Jyotaro’s name with spell “J” which lead goes through to how she met Tokio on the way. It might lot interesting to add Saika’s POV to the story, which helps to understand the great depth of her character.

I would love to see more embarrassing cute personality moments that she didn’t want to show or something that shows her hilarious expression and something unique that makes us really loves her just like we love AIKA, I think she keeps her hobbies and her weird interest really personal without Tokio’s notice, but I’m glad that AIKA was on her side knew what she had been thinking since she lives within Saika’s mind. She might glad that AIKA keep her mouth shut about her personal hobbies and interest, but who knows if AIKA can accidentally open up the personal secret hobbies which is cute to see Saika frustrated and embarrassed as well. I think much better instead showing panties or shower moment or wearing towel as fan-service, might be better to reduce it. I honestly love to see more character art expression for Saika in cute ways and in emotional ways.

However, it is just my wishlist for her, maybe people had their own opinion what they would like to see her changes in the remake version of LINK and honestly I would love if they do a second chance for her characters to shine, although I don’t know since Saika and AIKA voiced by a same VA, so they might want to casting a new voice only for Saika or AIKA, but that’s up to CyberConnect 2 now, we can only hope for something best to come.

If there’s a sequel I honestly love to see her again in her older version, I think she might become a beautiful girl or tomboy girl; I don’t know it’s something that we can’t judge for now. But what I’m going to say, Saika could be a best character if CC2 could handle character better, that’s all. Honestly, the way how the original LINK treating her is the reason there are no fan arts or people talking about Saika, so I think I aware about that. But I can sincerely hope CC2 could make a best choice through their experience after decade so they could be made a chance for developing her character more in remake or sequel or her spin-off stories. But I think no one knows what’s their next move. 

As for AIKA… If you guys love her, I think you all know what you all wish for her in remake; I think more cuteness moes of her, I guess, but I wish we could see how Tokio and Saika could save her in the sequel, honestly I would love to see her cute angry with her pouting face, it would increase her cuteness to the maximal, just as what AIKA fans desired. As for Schicksal, I kinda hoping for spin-off prequel about them, that’s all. For Flugel, I suggest you all need to read .hack//Bullet.

The reason I made this section much longer just because I talking about Saika, because *cough* *cough* I was a fan of her (laughs), please don’t hate me (laughs).

13. Might be good time for its remake to be released on Multi-Platform.



Now that Multi-platform releases have become trend to many players who owned PS4/PS5Xbox Series X and PC/Laptop Gaming (Steam) which this actions release of multi-platforms allows more audience and players from different owned platforms to enjoy the beloved game series of .hack, which also same goes treatment for .hack//IMOQ Remake and .hack//Link -Remake- but I wish Bandai Namco Entertainment not being such a jerk for worrying about money instead use this opportunity to bring more fans to play and were introduced to its franchise which it’s interesting to gauge interest for new players/audience and old fans.

But I think it would cost a lot budget to make it happens, but sincerely hope that CC2 and Bandai could reach this agreement for IPs revival, and its planning for its remake and creating more opportunity to expand more titles of future .hack, but CC2 too needs to learn about its marketing interest, the way of the game development, and the way how the story written which is what they need to improve themselves since the last decades over, I mostly hoping that the studio could improve their way as how to improve it’s immersive for the revival .hack franchise along with their focus on their self-published game. I honestly hope our voice can reach to Bandai Namco Entertainment so they green-lighted for .hack IPs to continue.

As for switch, I’m hoping it could release into those platform as well, but I’m afraid if the newest engine won’t work for Nintendo Switch, I think it would be good with releasing remaster .hack games for switch like .hack//G.U. Last Recode. So our best hopes is to wait for Nintendo Switch Pro (or so I heard from the rumor, but I don’t know).

BONUS: If the game remake doesn't work out as a plan, adapting the anime series of .hack//Link might be a good choice.


I think it’s up to fans if they were to agree or disagree with me about this, but because of popular fans demand for IMOQ Remake, I think it would take a lot of time to developing and I honestly fear that they couldn’t make it time to developing the remake version of LINK game, so I think there’s an alternative solution in order for us to re-experience LINK in fullest potential.

Although there’s a lot of options which they might going to choose Light Novel, Continue Manga Serialization or Adapting LINK into an Anime series. For me, I think adapting LINK anime series would be the best solutions since there’s a lot cast from the original and past appearance, which it could save up to voicing their characters through major episodes which they had roles. I think it could expand the experience which bringing all characters alive in a modern anime style, including the voice acting, music, animation and more, which it’s interesting and would love to see my beloved characters in anime, be A-1 Pictures, MAPPA, BONES, or Bee Train, although it’s up to them, since it cost a lot of money.

Another option is to creating a sequel to LINK since it would be interesting to see 2025 version of Tokio as 9 and Saika, since I want them to reunite with AIKA once again which properly closing the pages of 3rd Season .hack project. Although, I already figuring out my idea for sequel, but it’s secret, and It’s very twist and you all might going to think I’m wrong and blame on this, lol. But I honestly love to see those bunch of dorks again in 2025 version. But to be honest, I love to see Saika in older version, so it’s not wrong for me to hoping.

Although only they know when we’re going to see them again, time will tell, but who knows what Bandai Namco’s up to. 

Conclusion


There’s more thing that I didn’t even add in section header, but I would love to see more new bosses, new soundtracks, new areas to explore, new equipments, new costumes, new wallpapers, new lost grounds, and also new story scenario which I would love to see Tokio and Saika in high school, maybe set after .hack//Bullet But what kind of content they would like to add, we can only guess and hope for it. I think they need to address several major issues and hoping them to improve in order to make the game easier to handling for players to enjoy, also with adds a new difficulty modes.

For my conclusion, I think everyone had their own wishlist of how they could handle the remake version of .hack//Link although we can’t guess when and how, and what form it could take, would it be a remake, sequel, or adapting in a different format like Light Novel, Manga or Anime which right now is mystery, since there are no words from Bandai Namco Entertainment if they were interested to work on IP .hack again, but we don’t know at least, however, President Matsuyama stated they would want to return and working on .hack again if there’s a green-light permission from Bandai itself since they were a publisher.

Although they might have an opinion about my wishlist and how they comment about my articles, but I think it’s alright to express what I really want to see in the remake of LINK. Although, slowly and slowly after decade with translation patch been released, they seem now enjoying how the story was handled which I’m very appreciate how the team translation doing a great job to attract people who wants an English version of .hack//Link which it was very helpful. I’m hoping that with remaster or remake of LINK could also bring an opportunity to bring it to the international and west in English version, which is something for long-time fans waiting for. I could guess the remake of LINK will be released on PS4 or PS5 which might be a great chance to introduce it to the new fans. However, as I already told you all above, if it doesn’t work they could work on sequel or anime adaptation.

But now there’s no word from Bandai or CC2 from now on, we can only hope for something happens really brought us a good news, but I think they would like to prioritize the remake version of IMOQ first since there're bigger demands for fans wanting to re-experience those game again, so I think I’m hoping for anime instead or light novel or continuing manga. But now, no one knows what they’re planning, but as long our loves for .hack is getting stronger, we could show Bandai that our loves for .hack is never gone after decades and love to see them reviving the IP.

So everything decision is starting from us, so we can change this situation if we can attracting Bandai about our interest for .hack series return, only us who can do it and what about you, can you do it.

The future of .hack is depend on you all, and I promise you all, things will be payoff if you guys continue all of your support toward the franchise.
